Actually mine had a leftover 1993 fox intake on my 1994 (model, build date of Aug. 1993). There was a square head threaded plug in the air temp sensor location.

Didnt know until I had it ported by Tmoss we got to talking when I picked it up and he was like ohh...you have a 1994 this casting is a fox number.

They are the same casting - of course the SN intakes did not need/have the ACT or EGR coolant line tapped.

tmoss is it possible for you to post a pic of the differences in plugs and such? the motor im getting has the fox lower cobra on it already, and it would save me some work if i could just leave it on there and bolt my upper to it.

I have that tapped runner in the number 5 hole, with some sort of sensor in it, is this NOT on the fox manifold?

Its all about the act.

Ours are in the intake pipe tract.

Fox is in the lower intake.

For a 94-95, either lower will work.

The 87-95 lowers will work in an SN car - you just add two pipe plugs in the ACT/EGR holes if you have a Fox lower used in an SN car.

I have that plugged, but I have a sensor in it as well. A wire from the injector wiring harness plugs into it. What is it?

The Air Charge Temperature (ACT) more than likely.

I don't know about the fox intakes, but on a 94/95 intake, the coolant temperature sending unit is threaded into the lower plenum on the driver side right around that area. The wire is just a rubber boot that plugs onto a post coming out of the sending unit, and I believe that wire goes into the injector harness. That could be what you're referring to.

EDIT: I should mention the temperature sending unit is what sends a signal to the temp gauge on the dash, NOT the ECT which controls some engine aspects.

Ive attached a pic that illustrated whats going on on my 94-95 intake. Does it matter which hole the sensor is in? Is mine in the wrong hole, from pics im finding it might be.

I would imagine as long as it's in a coolant runner then it should be fine. The sensor/gauge are horribly inaccurate anyway so.......... who cares? lol. Thomas probably knows better than me though.

well it was in the number 5 runner. where the plug was shown to be in the image posted by blksn955 above. Not sure if that is tied in with the coolant or not.

Is it in the actual runner? Or is there a coolant passage that runs right there as well? Anyway of determining this? Can you see or feel up in there to see? You are sure that it's the temp sending unit right? If so, I might move it back where it belongs just to be sure.

The intake is at home, and im at school so i cant physically hold it. Like i said, the sensor is where the plug is on the pic sn955 posted, As long as this isnt for more then anything other then the dash gauge It shouldnt matter too much, and im putting the new motor in in like two weeks anyway.
