Going to look at this car in the morning. Anything I should look for in particular regarding 5.0s and Foxs? And other than tears what should I look at regarding the top and top motor? All the info I have on the car so far is below, no pics. And based on the info below what do you think a fair offer would be? I do not have really any 5.0 experience beyond wanting one in highschool.

89 5.0 automatic lx convertable

i bought it and it ran like crap, ran good in the drive but fell all over its face when you punched it out on the road. fuel psi is ok not great but ok. I took the upper intake off and was going to redo the gasket and throttle body. Then we got hit by the storm so right now its apart and if you want it thats the way you'll get it you can put it back together. oh yea trans has a shift kit in it. no exhaust for it either. HEADERS BACK.

Well i always look at the Body1st... i scale it, size it up.. walk around it about 4 times.. looking for flaws.. i always take a magnet, and i diet coke!... the magnet i use on spot i feel on the body, its all about texture!.. a magnet wont stick to bondo!, now your prolly thinken whats the coke for?.. well thats simple... after the 20- 30 min's, i spend on the body i always get a little thursty b4 i pop the hood!... so i treat myself! when the hoods poped i always check the frame 1st under the hood! one time i found welds behind the front quater panels where he tried to hide the new front end!,.. motor wise i dont know that much about! im a body looker my neighbor is the mechanic.. he always goes with me. to bad he drives a T/A.. so i recomend that you take a mechanic or someone that knows anything about motors.. i hope this helps!

Looked at it this morning. Looks decent for a 1300 car. No major body damage, just some dings. Windows are fine except on rear window sounds like it has a stripped cog or whatever and wont go down. Interior nearly complete. Top goes up and down fine but has one tear on the back upper corner and the canvas will have to replaced. Rear plastic window has yellow badly too so it will have to go as well. It was lowered but done correctly, no cut or heated springs. He still has all the parts all I have to do is reassemble to get it to run then track down the pressure issue in the fuel system.

Offer him like $800. Sound like it needs alot of work. You dont even know if the tranny or rear are any good.
