I've always loved the look of the cheese graters. Even when everybody was buying lx and cobra tails, I kept my cheese graters and I still love them....

I hate the cheese graters and the ones on my car now. I have a set of the white cheese grater tails that came on the car.
I have some lx ones but they need the lenses sealed back up.
The black smoked ones like the ones on my pic will look good when i 2 tone the car black on top and white down from the body line.

sealing the lenses to the housings is easy. pry the clips on the housings up just a touch, these are what hold the lenses, to seal you can use butyl tape that you can buy at a hardware store or ive had luck with black RTV, it seems to let the lenses sit flat in the housings better than the tape.
while the two pieces are apart it would be a good time to hit the inside of the housing (NOT the lens) with some silver paint and give the lens a good cleaning.

saw these in person last time i was at his place and my jaw dropped, this pic does them no justice. they look amazing on a black car!

Dave, with the recent issues the coupe is down for a little while, how did you separate the lens? what color did you paint the reflector? thinking it would be a good time to do mine.

I used a plastic pry tool and carefully pried the lens away from the housing. the real bitch is getting all the old butyl out of the housing. spray with a reflective silver paint and call it a day.
thats what i did anyway.

Always thought the amber part of the light looked nice on a black car

EDIT: Damn, almost the same angle and everything.
