So I'm to understand that you live in Florida? I was thinking it was California for some reason.
My wifes mom lives in Ft Walton. She drives through Crestview regularly to see her when she is on that part of her monthly circuit. I have been to the Emerald Coast Cruise in twice now when it comes to Panama City myself,....And to think...
Somebody with a tow truck is only 250 miles away....What was I thinking calling for some flat bed when I have your snatch and grab only 5 hours away?

Me too, man. I haven't been here much, but we kinda showed up at the same time outta the blue. It's pretty cool to see so many of the same guys on here doing their thing and still helping out the newbies (and Noobz). So, I really do miss the Mustang camaraderie. Kinda wish you guys were all local and we had a Mustang club or a beer joint to hang out at together Most of you guys feel like old friends, now. I might be able to hang around for a while with all this newfound enthusiasm I'm feeling about the car. Haven't been this excited in years. My timeline's been crazy:

Nov 2006 - car blew up after I turned the boost up too much
Feb 2007 to Fort Drum, NY to become a Platoon Leader
Sep 2007 to Iraq - dropped car at Dayton 50 Performance
Oct 2008 back to NY
Feb 2009 to GA - picked up car with a mess of problems
Aug '09 to Ranger school
Dec '09 to Germany to Command an Infantry Company, and then a brutal year in train up w/o time to enjoy Europe - couldn't bring car with, so it stayed at the family farm
Dec '10 to Afghanistan
Nov '11 back to Germany
Jul '12 to the other side of Germany in a new unit where I finally had 2 years, but they were rough and unstable in other ways due to the Army draw down
Jul '14 out of regular army and into reserves, new company command (stressful job), civilian job hunting, finally got to do a little on the car (tinkering and Team-Z)
Dec '15 to Dallas for a civilian job of 80hrs/wk - dropped off car at HPP Racing
May '16 to Fort Knox back on Active Duty (left car at performance shop in Dallas)
Dec '16 to VA for an Army intermediate school for officers
April 20th - I'll head back to Knox to sign out of my assigned unit. I'll pick up the car over memorial day weekend at the beginning of May
Jun '17, moving to California to attend college in Monterey for a Master's Degree

It looks like 15 moves of 4 months or more in almost 11 years, and that's not counting unit training exercises at each duty station. Makes me feel like not as much of a ****bag for not getting my car done. There was never a good chance to do anything. I felt as excited as I do right now when I came home from Iraq in 2009, only to be severely disappointed by the progress on my car. I have not been as excited about it in 8 years. I'm back to studying parts and combinations, reading about new tuning developments, dealing with you ****bags I can't wait to get the car back. I know it's pretty much going straight into a body shop when I get to California, in order to prevent the spread of rust and to make it look good again. But, I think I'll get a few dry days that I can take it for a spin. I've got my fingers crossed that I'll get it back ready to go from this performance shop (HPP Racing). *fingers crossed*

Damn son... You stay busy.

I forgot you did the Ranger thing, did I ever tell you my buddy is Special Forces? I vaguely remember having that convo already... I have the memory of a goldfish.

That's the truth. StangNet has one of the best environments of any forum I've ever been on. When I bought my MS6, I joined a mazdaspeed forum, and those guys were so abrasive and cutthroat that I never made a single post.

Forums in general are different these days. Today, FB groups are the hot ticket for that instant response factor, but the posts are lost to history and there is no search function. At least with a forum, a thread can be searched and pulled back up quite easily.

FB groups ask the same damn question every day.

You are spot on. The other sites are for android development. It is a whole different world. They hate to wait for a reply. They think devs do nothing but sit and wait on questions.

Yeah, StangNet is one of the good forums. Thank you to all the moderators. I had a MS3 for a while. The main reason I sold it was intrusive traction control that would kill the car in the middle of the road when I tried to pull out in traffic. But my thoughts about most forum members that drove MS3s was not all positive, and I really didn't want to be part of that club. There's a little bit of the same attitude in some of the S197 forums, but not even close to as bad as the MS forums. I do have to stay away from some of the unmoderated off-topic areas so I can continue to like some forum members over there

Ha yea, my buddy has/had a MS3 (he's trying to sell it this week), and with just a tune and an intake, the thing has severe traction problems even with somewhat decent tires. IDK how guys with 300+ WHP MS3s can stand it.

Yeah, the maturity here is top notch. Also the website (PC and mobile) just runs so well.

I haven't owned a G35 in over a year, but am still an active member over at G35driver.com simply because it's a pretty decent community and mature. Only reason I keep checking in.

I had my last straw with the FB groups when brash individuals who disagree with my advice simply insult me rather than counter and debate. I fault the admins there for allowing that, an it really dissuades you from posting at all if you can express a counter opinion without putting the other person down at the same time.

Anyway, long story short. I like SN

I let my official automotive certifications expire so I would not have to moderate. Actually, I was too busy in a different profession, and I appreciate the title I got. We have been too busy getting ready to move to be on here regularly for a while. The good news about the new place is there is a large spot for a new shop. The bad news is the shop is only in my head at this point!
