I bought this wheel package today: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/18-x-9-10-Mustang-FR500-style-wheels-tires-DEEP-DISH_W0QQitemZ220388763159QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item220388763159&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

However, now I'm a little concerned with the tire's not being wide enough to protect the wheel. The tires are 245's up front and 265 in the rear, which seem on the narrower side. It's obvious the tires will fit the wheel, however I know the rule of thumb is usually to go a little wider tire in order to protect the wheel in case you run into a curb or something. Anyone have any advice on this? Anyone running this setup now and doing ok with it?

Luckily my rears are only 10's not 10.5 so maybe It won't look as awkard as in your case. I think with 10's though I don't really need to go any bigger than 275. It's just every wheel fitting calculator I've come across have recommended tires 275/285 in the rear and 255 up front for this wheel setup. I guess it's not a huge difference from where I'll be with the ones I'm getting. I find it hard to believe with a seller this refutable, that he would be selling bogus tire setups. Oh well I guess I'll have to just wait and see how it pans out.

tire size

you should definatley have 295's on the rear in a 18x 10... I have 18x10.5 and i'm running 315/35/18's they are perfect. I know for a fact 295's are perfect for 18x10
you definately should not go any smaller..you want the rear to be wider....probaly go with 295/45/18.....I mean I was told you cant put 315's on the rear rim by every tire calculator and even the company that sold me the tires... That is the biggest crock of bull I ever heard... thats why all these mustangs running 18's are running either 305's or 315's ....I hope this helps you...

Thanks for the input guys, it definitely confirmed what I had thought 'after the fact'. I'm gonna call these guys on Monday and see If I can upgrade the tires to a more appropriate size like 285/295 or so.
