Well, they say Royal purple stands up to high temperatures better than any other oil on the market. Reduces friction better too... soooo...
 
I believe Royal Purple first existed as a product around 1986 (See John Williams) so, your question; "How long can Royal Purple in the rear end last?" Theoretically, it CAN last at least 31 years. Side note: I've heard it is the best thing to put in your rear end, though I've never tried...
