The black box is very real. So are satellites that can find us anywhere. Even the damn Kroger cards and other such things keep track of all we do.

Well as Benjamin Franklin said, Someone who is willing to give up a little freedom for security deserves neither freedom nor security.

Bush's administration is a full-on circle jerk.

I seen two white ones..not so bad looking...though I doubt I would buy it for the money if I had it. Though it can perform though...Its already won several events, and even the mighty zo6 and porche are having issues with the car.

PSYKOSTEVO you are right on.
So was good ole Ben Franklin. People need to understand that. And as long as we are willing to let our government keep us in fear, they can do anything they want. We are neither free nor secure.
Fact is there is absolutely no way to protect us from everything. It can't be done. All that has been accomplished in the last few years is more fear, higher prices, a war that will never end and people around the world hate us more than ever.

My firend works at the Nissan garage and they acutally have 3 cars waiting at the port to be delivered, but they won't release them to the dealer until the Garage passes the "skyline" requirements. i.e. lifts, jacks, tools ect.

My friend also told me that a brake job is gonna run about $6,000 (dealership pricing) because you have to replace everything, can't just do pads. and all 4 have to be done, rotors calipers, and pads.
Not proven yet just what he was told at work.

if you can afford the price on this car you can afford to fix it and race it, hell most of the mods you will do will void the warentee anyways. So who cares, buy it drive it liek it was built and pay to fix it like the race car it is.

just glad it isn't more affordable, and poor folk like us arn't having to worry about it.

If this were true i would have asked the sales person where the nearest chevrolet/Corvette dealership is. After buying my new ZO6 i would have taken it to a local performance shop and had them do a H/C/I install on my new vette before 200 miles. After that i would then wax any GTR stock or H/C/I swap that comes near me and laugh at them and then still have money left over. Not to mention not having my waranty voided because of some BS reasons. However we all know the dealership has to prove the modifications done cause the breakdown.

-thanks.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but H/C/I would void your warentee, even on the vette.

Otherwise.. I concur sir.

MSRP on a 2009 Nissan GT-R is $69,850.

MSRP on a 2008 Corvette Z06 is $72,125.

So, with -2,275 dollars, you're going to buy a H/C/I swap, and STILL have money left over?

Anyway, I agree with m4a1mustang. I think it looks cool, but I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it.

ehhhh who cares about warranty nothing serious ever happens to the car until its up any ways lol. and most of the small things they try to say isnt covered anyways. warranties are a joke.

my car was perfectly fine until literally 400 miles after warranty and then the cruise control cut out lol.

but i dont think they have the right to track everything you do because thats a violation of your rights. its like those redlight cameras are getting cut down in some places by lawyers because you have the right to question your accuser. and how can you question a camera lol

My buddy's Shop actually got theirs yesterday just after i made my post.
Window sticker is $79,854.99 (saw it myself) and it's stickerd at 483hp, which he said is a fudged number, He said they are making over 500 but they couldn't get them in the states that way?

They had to fudge a bunch of numbers to ge them here in the states like HP, TQ and a couple other things. He didn't hear anything YET about a "black box" that tracked info like that, and he is the service tech...

Another rumor that began circulating after the Tokyo Auto Salon has also been confirmed: aftermarket wheels are out. Supposedly, all the GT-Rs on display at TAS had to be driven in on the stock rollers, jacked up and then fitted with the tuner's chosen wheels. Due to a sensor mounted on the valve stem, if the GT-R is driven with aftermarket rims, an error code is thrown on the dash. And although MINE'S has fitted a custom exhaust to their shop car, they've found that any modification to the intake system causes the ECU to go haywire.

sounds a lot like our cars. The TPS goes nuts if you don't transfer the band to the new tires and if you add a CAI and don't flash the ECU it goes nuts and goes lean. Nothing surprising there, really.

That's bologna. The HP restrictions of the past were actually imposed by Japan, and not the US. They had a HP freeze at 276 bhp Up until a few years ago. That's why you RARELY saw a Import with anything bigger than a V6, and also why they loved turbo chargers on their cars so they could produce great low end hp to compensate for the lack of top end hp that they could not have.

You still saw them sneaking cars out that produced 350 hp, like the Supra TT, VR-4, R34 GTR etc. But they were very crafty in how they presented the hp numbers on those cars. And all cars were given the potential for nasty hp numbers aftermarket.

It wasn't until that ban was lifted that you started to see the "Horsepower wars" when the corvette and other cars started hopping the hp up to get ahead of the competition. Before the Corvette could have 320hp and still be king of the road. If it still have only 320hp it's be getting the doors blown off of it by the average sports car.

Let's hope it was dropped in the US. Who really want's to pay $1,000 for a tech inspection after racing?

All that was told to him was the sticker window HP rating was well under the actual,

and he told me all kinds of the numbers were being fudged to get the cars state side.

They have to prove the work done has caused the fault with the car to void your warranty..
