Friend weighed his 93 Notch today, aluminum heads & basic weight reduction

My friend weighed his 93 Notch today and doesnt post here so I figured I would throw it up here.

93 Notch, 5 Speed, PW, PD, PS, previous owner told him it's a mexican block (unsure?), TFS Aluminum Heads, FMS Aluminum DS, !AC, Kaenen Fiberglass 4 Inch Cowl Hood, Steeda Drag Front Sway Bar, !Dog Bone, Centerline Warriors w/ MT Sportsman 4 Inch Fronts & 275/50/15 MT Radials on the rear, about 1/2-3/4 of a tank of gas.

Added weight is subframe connectors, aftermarket control arms.

3003 pounds with with driver, he weighs around 137.

For comparison here are some weights from cars I had, all cars including my friend's were done on the same scale.

89 Mustang LX Hatchback, 5 Speed, power everything, sunroof, GT interior, Pro Star Knockoffs, FMS Aluminum DS, removed dog bone, removed sound insulation in hatch and under rear seat, no smog pump, 1/8 of a tank of gas, 3200 with me in it, I weighed 126-130 then.

88 Mustang GT, 5 Speed, power everything, sunroof, weight removed: FMS Aluminum DS, removed dog bone, removed sound insulation in hatch and under rear seat, no front sway bar, no radio, 1/8 of a tank of gas, Weight Added: subframe connectors, Pony Wheels, ds loop, spare tire, 3260 with me in it

89 Mustang LX Hatchback, 5 Speed, power everything, GT Interior, removed dog bone, no sound insulation in hatch or under rear seat, Weight Added: Powerdyne Blower, Saleen Front Bumper, Saleen Wing, Chrome 17 Inch Cobra R Knockoff's, 1/4 tank of gas, 3300 pounds with me in it

88 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe, 2.3 Turbo, 5 Speed, Power Everything, all the options, both power seats, auto dim headlights, keypad door entry, everything, spare tire in it, dog bone still on it, 3460 with me in it

Another friend's 93 Notch, 5 Speed, power everything, FMS Aluminum DS, Mac Aluminum UD Pulleys, !Dog Bone, removed sound insulation in trunk and under rear seat, no smog, Pro Dumps, Pony Wheels, 3140 with him in it, he weighs about 160-165.

My 94 Z28, 6 Speed, Hardtop, Power everything, no spare or jack, Weight Added: Kenny Brown DD Subframe Connectors, BMR STB, Nitrous Kit, 3540 with me in it, less than 1/2 a gallon of gas (YES I SAID GALLON!), empty nitrous bottle, I only weighed about 106-110 then.

my car wieghs 2997 i believe without me. i have a 351w with aluminium heads a 8 point roll bar. but i have fibreglass hood hatch and doors aswell as lexon glass in the hatch.

What kind of seats to you guys have? I am trying to get to around 2800 (without my 245lb self) I have no bumpers, no back seats, no sound deadener, two plastic Summit Racing vinyl covered seats (like 3lbs each) and the normal alum. driveshaft, alum. heads, weld rims, big and littles..

My lx hatch (5spd) weighs 3160lbs with smog delete, subframes, (no cats), all power without driver and that is with aluminum heads and 1/2 tank of gas. aluminum driveshaft, removed dog bone, a few lb sound insulator in the back...that is all I can think of...

Friends 00 Gt with 17x9 Chrome Cobra R's, 5spd, dumped mufflers, fully loaded with mach 460 and leather weighed 3,337lbs. 1/2 tank of gas. Before the weigh-in I guess 3,333...I was quite close

Friends bone stock 95 gt 5spd (very bone stock down to the silencer) with full tank of gas weighed 3,380lbs.

My 2000 Gt with 17x9 Chrome Cobra R's, no leather or mach 460 weighed 3,311lbs IIRC.

All without driver...

Maybe I'm close to 2900, I have an 87 with no power stuff (except windows) no ABS, no Airbags.. guess I will go to a scale.

My old coupe weighed 2980 without driver.

No smog stuff, no cats, no power steering, tubular k-member, tubular a-arms, coil over front suspension, no dog bone, skinny's, no spare, no jack, fiberglass hood, aluminum driveshaft.
This was the extent of the weight savings items.

I had subframe connectors, Tremec 3550, stereo w/ 2 8's and amps/amp board, half tank of gas etc.... that added weight.

my car was 3160 with me in it i had all the sound deadner removed ,fibergalss 1/2tank of gas, no smog,no cats,poly race seat,no rear seat. im about 260lbs so im making back up for the weight i ditched lol.

All the cars I listed had GT interior.

87 gt Weighed 3135 lbs

Full tank of gas, me in it (140 lbs)

no a/c, no smog, no heater or blower motor under dash, summit seats w/covers and 2 layers of egg crate , manual windows , manual locks , no sunroof , no cruise control , no options lol , fiberglass cowl hood , no quads or rear sway bar.

added weight
lakewood traction bars, safety loop, full length SFC, 17x9 / 17x10.5 cobra r's , 245/45 and 275/40 tires, 1 20 lbs toolbox, 1 10 lbs box of ratchets/sockets, spare tire and jack, full size fire extenguisher.

with some alluminum heads/driveshaft and weight reduction and 1/2 tank of gas it should be around 2800 or less with out me in it .

3180 pounds without driver on a certified scale. This is with a full tank of gas. At the time the only things removed were the dog bone and the quad shocks. Addtional weight is the sub frames. I have since removed the A/C.

My 2000 Gt with 17x9 Chrome Cobra R's, no leather or mach 460 weighed 3,011lbs IIRC.

All without driver...

How much gas did your car have in it? Even if it was full of gas, that's only like maybe 65lbs more of gas (I've heard a gallon is around 8lbs). So the only difference I see is the mach 460 and leather and it's 326 lbs more? Add the 65 for a full tank of gas and it's still 261 more...wow - I wouldn't have guessed that a stereo system and leather interior would way that much more...crazy
