When I bought my 2003 GT I was disappointed the seats would not fully recline like my old '93 camaro. Wonder if the 2005 GT seats recline a bit further than the 2003/2004 GT? Is there a modified, more comfy seat that will recline more in my 2003 GT?

I also hate the fact that my 2001 seats can't fully recline.

I'm just wondering...<perverted mind at work, probably>...but what's the point of a fully reclined front seat??

My mind went straight in the gutter on this post. Probably because I saw a Cops "Ho ho ho episode" on TV over the weekend and they kept catching people in their cars with prostitutes. I can see the seats not reclining being a problem then.

I need help. LOL

Being in my early 50's and having a hard time catching even 5 hours of sleep a night, taking naps in the car during lunch in the parking lot or napping at security guarded rest stops during long trips is to me a MUST for a well rounded vehicle. I don't know about you guys but my car and the road is like a second home to me. I used to sleep in a pup tent for three years in my 20's so I can easily nap in a Mustang provided the seats fully recline. Be that as it may I was glad someone answered me on the 4.6 forum and gave me the answer to fully reclining model '99 to 2004 Mustang seats without spending a penny:

Woohoo!!!

Still I never got an answer on the 2005 model, which I was considering to trade my GT for but it doesn't matter now, since I really love my 2003 much, much more. Plan to make the modification today.

No problem, Buddy1065. I was just playing. Not too many people ever sleep in their cars (at least by choice) these days. Besides, I have a warped sense of humor and that one was just too good to pass up!

But to seriously answer your question about the 05, the answer is no. They do not fully recline. I would guess, if you call the seat sitting straight up 90 degrees, you could take the front seat back to 135 degrees. They do not lay flat (180 degrees) by any means. Or if you're not mechanically inclined, 12 o'clock is straight up, and these seats go back to 1:30. So I doubt you would find sleeping in this car comfy. But then again, you slept in a pup tent, so this might be plenty for you.

So this car isn't very good for sleeping in nor would it be a good car for a booty call, if you were so inclined!

Hope this helps.

do you live in your car? if so get a house or apartment. the 05 seats don't fully recline for safety reasons.
