About an Hour ago i began work on replacing the front sturts on my 1993 GT, but didn't get very far, it turns out that the two bottom bolts that connect the strut to the suspension are torqued from the factory at around 200 ft. lbs. and arent too easy to get off... Tomorrow morning im planning on going out to grab a section of iron pipe to use as a breaker bar and attempt to get them off. but I was wondering if there is something that im missing, or if theres a trick to getting them off, or at least making them easier to get off. Also, is there anything else that i might need to know, so that i dont end up spending anymore time then i need to on this, thanks.

Some PB Blaster on them might help.

I use a breaker on the exposed side and box-end or crescent wrench on the cramped side. The pipe should help you out a lot.

Good luck.

I do the same as JT.

You can turn the wheel in either direction to help you access the bolts better.

Some air tools help if you have access, if not these guys gave some great advice. BTW the Factory Service Manual has the Torque at 80 - 120 Ft. Lbs for when you reinstall those nuts, and it wouldnt hurt to put a little Loctite on the threads too.

You could try a box end wrench or ratchet and beat the end of it with a hammer to get the "impact effect" on it. Some pb blaster would probably help also.

I agree with all above. That's how I did it when I put in my bilsteins. Not to be an ass but you do know to support the a-arm from below so the spring doesn't launch right? Good luck, just hope your not puttin in the cheap kyb's.
