I have always garaged me 96gt, but with my new house I have to store it under the porch.
Needless to stay in the Northeast it is frozen solid.
I have intended on starting in once a month for a while, but when I went outside to start it, I found the battery dead.
I tried to pop the hood, but it seemed frozen too.
Does anyone know if there is a way to manually open the hood?

Also, are there any other winter storage methods I should use while storing my covered stang under my porch?

TIA
Dan

If you haven't already, you might want to consider putting in a fuel preservative in your gas tank and keeping it mostly full to keep water from condensing in your fuel lines between starts.

To open the hood, pour some hot water on it.

If you can't park it inside, find yourself a car cover.

You can use a heat gun to remove ice from your hood, as well as other body seams to free them.

Is there any way to manually unlatch the hood?

The lever in the car pulls, but doesn't make that snap.

The latch and striker are as manual as it gets without forcing something, which will likely result in breakage.

You will have to remove all obstructions from the hood, as to allow the latch to release it.

Hook up a garden hose to the hot-water outlet on your washing machine

I put a tee on mine. It's great for winter washing.

If everything is frozen & battery is dead, leave it alone until it thalls a little. Forcing the hood latch could cause more damage. I have a dead battery every year. I jump start it and it recharges.A cover would be good protection..buy a good one and make sure it tied properly or they go sailing. Good luck
