I vote FRPP....but if you still see that KB in the future you may want to reconsider your choice of ratio.....staying NA I would even say go 4.30 having had both those and 4.10's up until a month ago!
yea i considered 3.73's but i dont think the kenne bell will be within the next year so ill just enjoy the 4.10s for now, and if i need less gear when i get my supercharger, i can decide that then. But i want to be able to enjoy the 4.10s while im N/A. I think im gonna go with FRPP, i was really borderline and leaning towards FRPP ($20 extra big f**kn deal) but i only needed one vote to decide. Thanks! :nice: Im gonna go order them now.

many of the installers around me will ONLY install ford/frpp gears, and it did help me in the future, because when my trans went south, the dealer said that since it was a ford gear in the rearend he would overlook my 4.10's in dealing with the warranty. I told him the al. d/s 31-spline t-lok and gear are ford and he said "That's good."

somehow he also overlooked the DS loop :flag: :nice:

i just had motive gears installed in my car yesterday, only thing is my installer said it was a very tight fit the tightest hes seen, and it is difficult to gauge the pinion depth because of the fit. He told me the ford racing ones just fit right and is easier to get the backlash. If i were you spend the extra money on the ford ones, im not dissing motive gears they are strong, well priced gears, but you get what you pay for.

This is a topic I can speak to you about with much experience. I while ago I purchased a set of 3.90's from Motive and had them installed. They whinned like crazy, so I took it back and they reset it up, still the same problem. Took it back a third time with the same results.

Finally we got Motive involved and they came out to the shop and tried to setup another gear, this time a 4.10, it whinned and I brought it back within a couple days when the rep could be on site again. When they opened the the case up, there were so many shavings in there it had to be cleaned big time, so he tried another gear.

This time they put a complete install kit with all new bearings etc. Gear was better but still the same whinning. Finally I traded the car in on the 01 I have now and I can promise everyone the only gear I will put in that car is a Ford gear. Actually the shop that did my work will never install a Motive gear in a Ford again. They spent in excess of 60 hours on my car, and even a specialist tech from motive could not get it setup right.

FRPP for sure, unless you want all the headaches I went through

I've had the Motives for a little over 5,000 miles now with no problems whatsoever. Installed by Ford, and the mechanic said he had no problems with it either. Go with whatever you think. I hear whining is caused by crappy installation.

Well, Im really surprised about the guy above with the Motice problems.

I'm not well experienced at putting gears in, and I put my Motive 3.73 in my car. Of course, I wasn't doing this to save price, I just wanted to see if the gear install would go smooth, and if I would get any whine in my result. My paint job showed up iffy, only reaching 30% on the cruise side, but I slapped it together, and drove it off. 0 Whine whatsoever.

I can't imagine any shop doing a worse gear install than an amateur like myself.
