Who can tell me if they have installed the FRPP Tach Adapter under the dash at the computer location, rather than cut into wires in the engine compartment. If you must install it in the engine compartment,.......why?

Ford says in the engine compartment!

I notice other adapters are installed at the computer location inside the passenger kickpanel. Seems to me this would be much easier.

Thanks,...

I just purchased the PEP tach adapter, its installed in the kickpanel. I dont know why the FRPP would be in the engine compartment but i think you should get the PEP. The instructions are good and it looks pretty easy.

Thanks,.......I already have the FORD adapter however, I still can see no reason why it can't be installed the same way the one that you have is installed. Unless it will interfere with the computer diagnostics if required. The one from PEP is very simple to install. As a matter of fact I used the instructions they supplied and modified the FRPP instructions untill I was told not to do that,.....

If somebody would give me a good reason I'd be happy!
