This converter was bought to use in TCI's 5r55s StreetFighter Transmission behind the new Coyote 5.0 Crate Motor. It has only been installed during mock up, but then Performance Automatic Recalled their controller Package for the 5r55s so this Transmission setup was no longer an option for the install. It has never been installed on a running engine.
Designed with the street/strip application in mind, this torque converter benefits more radically prepared street machines (those with performance cams, aftermarket carbs and higher compression ratios) to bring the launch RPM in line with the performance enhancements. The StreetFighter® lets you take advantage of horsepower gains found in higher RPM ranges.

Performance Automatic SFI 8-bolt/3-valve w/5R55 trans flexplate package

This SFI Flexplate Package for the 5r55s was bought to use with the Coyote 5.0 Crate Motor as well, but since PA recalled their controller package for the 5r55s Transmission it could no longer be utilized. It is in new/unused condition with minor paint scratches from torquing the bolts when installed during mock up.
Performance Automatic's Platinum series flexplates are engineered to
handle extreme duty applications and designed to take the punishment of
today's high horsepower engines.
The 4mm thick centerplate provides a solid foundation for these new designs. Ring gears are precision welded to meet SFI specifications, utilizing robotic machinery and cold welding process.
Performance Automatic's Platinum Xtreme Series are engineered for excellence and are rigorously inspected throughout the manufacturing cycle to ensure that our customers receive the quality that they have come to expect from Performance Automatic.
