Thoughts on this? Is this a huge concern? Couldn't one just extend the return line down lower with a piece of fuel line?

Id be more concerned with heat soakimg the fuel with that much return.

Aeration would be a relatively minor concern unless you like running around with low fuel quantity.

I figured as much. Keep the tank topped off and shouldn't be an issue

Extending the return line down farther would help with the airiation but I'm inclined to think the larger fuel return line into the smaller pipe in the hanger skews the test, would back pressure in the larger fuel line to a shorter, smaller fuel line cause it to squirt out harder causing more airiation ?
And it also would make sense if your running a fuel pump 2 1/2 times the stock size you would need to size the fuel lines accordingly, or is it the coffee talk'n.

I do like that pick-up though. I will probably have one on-hand for the next time I drop the tank.

You should add that video to the "Fuel Flow Forensics" Resource.

The purpose of the fuel return discharging over the top of the fuel pump is to keep the pump cool when operating at low fuel levels.
