okay i have a 88 2.3 5 spd, it wont start, i am getting spark i already checked it, i can hear the fuel pump prime when i turn the key on and after cranking it i have fuel at the schreader valve, but hardly any pressure, what could it be?
A friend of mine had a similar issue with his 88 turbocoupe. The pump would run and push volume, but with no pressure. Turned out the pump was shot and when it encountered resistance did not pump pressure, just volume. Double check yourself to make sure that in fact you are low on pressure. Could also be a bad fuel pressure regulator.
well i put a gauge on it.... no pressure at all, pulled the tank and the line going from the tank to the fuel filter is kinked and some moron (i just got this car) had cut the push lock connector off at the fuel filter and was using a hose clamp.... not real safe for high pressure fuel injection i'm guessing (that was sarcasm) so i need a new fuel line that goes from the tank to the filter.... where can i get one?
Try Ford, but that's a long shot. If you can't get one from them, maybe try NAPA or one of the other parts stores, but I don't remember any of them stocking anything more than a few fittings. If all that fails, call up a few local junkyards. They are bound to have a good one for you.
