Ok you may laugh at me but where is a fuel filter on a 87 gt I am thinking that it is possible that the guy before me took it off I have 4 damn book's but none of them say exactally where just "remove the filter". Thanks
It is in front of the gas tank right in the middle. Kind of by the rear end. It is way up there so don't jack the car up too much. I just changed them on both of my cars within the last couple months and to be honest, I can't exactly remember! Jack the car up in the back, hop under it, and you will see it. It is connected to the car by a bracket that is usually all rusted. To remove it, you have to pull the two white plastic retainers out, then pull the fuel lines that are attached to it. Some people say to cut off fuel pressure to keep gas from coming out but it is going to come out anyway. I just let the car sit for a day or two then change it. Just don't start it before. Gas will come out so be careful.
