Fuel Filter

Hay whats the trick to getting the fuel filter off. clips are off do i just pull. its an 2002 gt thanks

You need a spring lock removal tool, they are very cheap. Do not try to force it or make a tool. Obtain and use the proper too.

Yes, absolutely... Any parts store will have a spring lock removal tool. They are used on fuel and air conditioner lines. The tool should cost $5-10.

Fuel will definitely come out, I just did mine two months ago and even though I depressurized the fuel system a good 6-8 ounces of fuel leaked out. Have shop rags ready and do not get it in the eye...

DO NOT GET IT IN YOUR EYE...it burns and contact lenses are even worse

There will be some that leaks out but I would depressurize the line by using the schrader valve. It's in the engine bay on the passenger side. It's just a black cap that when you take it off looks like a valve stem. Use something to press the little pin inside to release the pressure.

Just pull the inertia switch behind the drivers side taillight, and run your car till she dies. Should have minimal fuel coming out, but keep a rag around the connection just in case.

Don't forget to plug the switch back in and don't panic if you do and your car won't fire up. I don't speak from experience

fuel filter is done. went very easy with that tool 8.00 another tool to add to the collection. i changed it cause i changed the rear end oil so it was right there. Thanks for your help.
