fuel gap light comes on

the past 2 times that i have drove my 03 gt in the rain the check fuel cap light comes up on the cluster. the 1st time it happened i took it off and put it back on but the light stayed on until i got more gas. it stayed off until i drove it in the rain again yesterday. any reasons for this?

try removing the cap and retighten it with the vehicle off...the light will come on if the cap isn't properly sealed...twist it tight and push down on it

if this doesn't work you may have a bad gas cap...which is common

replace it...

Be glad you don't live in NY. Under the new inspections that are about to take effect that light would mean you fail the inspection. And when you fix it, you have to drive 250-300 miles without the light tripping again to clear it from the computer before you can pass. The new inspection requirements are
