Ok So i just finished building my car. It Runs ****ing Awesome!! My friend helped me do a couple of mods after the car was finished, like a better fuel pump. While I was readjusting my roller rockers he was going to swap out my pump for me. He pulled the sender by accident. I put ot back Amnd then reinstalled it. Since that moment my fuel gauge will only read 1/4 tank full or empty. Right now thge car is in the air with the tank lowered. I have checked clean rechecked and pulled the sender to check it reinstalled it again and the same problem. Any help???

the brass floating thingy for the sending unit probly has leaked some gas in it and won't let it float like it should....Take it out and shake it if you can hear the gas in there or it is heavy that is most likely your problem.

I have the same problem will either read full empty or 1/4 full nothing inbetween.. .have just kinda delt with it for a year.. sometimes I know the tank is full but it will say empty.. but once it gets down to about a 1/4 it will jump back up and warn me.. weird... I tried loosening the bolts on my straps of my tank and they wont budge... gonna spray them with some liquid wrench and try in a few days.. that would be a good thing to fix.. I have a extra gas tank I may put up if it is in better condition... I would love to know if you get that fixed spook 302..

We have had about 8 fords in the past 3 months do this and this is what I fix every time. I drill a small hole in the brass floater and drain all the gas out. fill with watter a few times to get the fumes out (sometimes let the fumes burn) and re solder it all back to seal it up. Theese often leak verry slow and eventually fill with gas till they won't float anymore.
