Fuel injector stuck open. There is a Ford TSB dealing with injectors sticking open and flowing too much. Usually the problem presents as a hydrolock at startup.
No spark at all in one or more cylinders on the right side.
Bad O2 sensor on the right side (reads constantly lean causing more fuel to be added).
if it was fuel and the manifold was hot it would have cought on fire.... Its not uncommon for water to condensate and drip out. My car spits alot of water, even with out cats.
I would have never thought to ask the OP if they could tell the difference between fuel and water. Not to mention if it were fuel, the car would most likely run poor.
