Quick question guys: Should my liquid filled fuel guage that's on the fuel rail schrader valve have fuel pressure with the key on, but the engine not running? I reads 40 psi when the engine is running. Thanks guys.

yes you should. You should hear the fuel pump come on when you turn your ignition on. This will build your fuel pressure up.

Bummer... Maybe I've got a guage issue, because I do here the fuel pump prime for a few seconds when I turn the key to on. Any suggestions on why I might not be see'ing pressure KOEO? Thanks for the quick response.

you are talking about turning the key on like your getting ready to start it, if so and it starts easy....I would say you have a gauge problem

Thanks jhonda. Yes when I turn the key to on but do not start it I hear the pump prime, but the guage reads 0 psi. It does start pretty easy with no problems to speak of. I think I will order a new guage.

Thanks again for the quick reply.

He's right, it will build pressure. If the car is starting and the guage isn't working it means that either the guage is clogged or just a piece of crap.

I agree with Strype - if the car starts real quick and all, the gauge might have some sort of issue.

You could try cycling they key a few times before starting (multiple primes) to see how long it takes for the gauge to read something).

Good luck.
