Fuel pressure ?

My son recently bought a 96 GT 4.6 sohc. The car starts hard. I checked fuel pressure, 32 at idle and will drop to 0 within 1 minute after shutdown. I had him take it back to the dealer and he was told "this is normal ". His warrenty expires in 2 weeks. Any help would be great

replace the fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator. i don't know that there is too much that you can do to get the dealership to cover it.

Before you do anything replace the fuel filter, start with that which is cheapest and easiest to fix.

It's not normal for the pressure to drop off completely that quickly. If it has a waranty I'd press the issue, because that is what you paid for. But if you want to fix it yourself, it is likely one of three things. The fuel pressure regulator, leaking injectors, or a bad check valve on the fuel pump.
