i am switching over from a mechanical fuel pump to a electric fuel pump. My new engine block doesnt have the accomodations for the mech one. I have a holley electric, it has an ingoing and an outgoing side. My question is my stock mechanical pump has an ingoing, outgoing, and a return line, i think. What do i do about the return line? Thanks.

how many psi does your new pump flow? i dont have carbed stang experience, but i would probably put a regulator on the inlet line, just to be safe. then i would plug the return line bung. if the new pump flows real close to the stocker, and the stocker had no provision for a return line, i dont see what you would need one now.

cool? bump for ya.

the stocker pump did have provisions for a retrun line. SHould i just get rid of the return line and say screw it. Just run tank to pump, then pump to carb. Thanks.

you could - what i would likely do is get a cheap regulator (they are under 20 bucks, IIRC) and plumb it so you retain the return line.

im sure you could run w/o one - a lot of my carbed stuff does. but a reg is a good idea, IMHO, no matter.

my two cents worth - i bet carbed guys have some nice info for you on this - im just talkin out of my rear.
