That's the code I got and because of the problem, haven't driven my cobra in more than a year. Starts fine but can barely accelerate. Replaced Cap and Rotor, Plugs, and few other things. Need to figure this out so I can drive the thing again.

Cleaned the MAF sensor recently? Also, does the distributor advance when you increase the rpm's? Does the TPS signal voltage increase as the TB opens? While the PIP may need replacing that doesn't sound like the problem to me.

Yeah, just cleaned the maf. It's a spark issue for sure. Hooked a timing light up and couldn't even get the #1 plug to fire the light against the pointer. It took quite awhile.

I'm confused. In your first post you stated

Starts fine but can barely accelerate.

Are you now saying that it starts and idles but the timing light doesn't flash?

Or are you saying it took a lot of cranking before it fired?

I had the same thing in my Cobra clone, and in a similar situation - old gas in the tank. Here's a video of the first time I tried to start it:

YouTube - 1994 Mustang Cobra - First Engine Start

Part of that was bad gas, but that mostly cleared up by the end of the video. However, the idle never really got any better, it always started rough. The main problem turned out to be the PIP in the distributor. Swapped the dizzy out as a test and the engine started right up and settled to a nice purr immediately.

If you have a Mustang friend nearby and he'll let you borrow his distributor, swap it out and see if the problem goes away. If not, you can buy one from your local parts store and return it if the problem doesn't go away.
