I'm using a electric fuel pump in my 68 and its works well however I would like to change one thing about it. The pump is wired through a oil pressure switch and won't start to pump until oil pressure builds. Iwould like to set it up so that when I turn the key it runs for a few seconds to "prime" the system then shut off, like modern vechicles. How would I go about this? Thanks

Run a wire from the "S" terminal of your starter solenoid through a diode to your fuel pump relay.

This will make the fuel pump act the same as normal except it'll also run while you are cranking the engine. You need the diode because you only want current to flow 1 direction..otherwise your fuel pump relay would be trying to power your starter solenoid while the engine is running.
