I am finally coming home soon from Iraq, (I spend more time in the sand than David hasslehof ) and I am going to start piecing together all the parts I need to build a short block (I don’t know how long 427 rwhp will last on the stocker) my primary concern is with the fuel system. I am still debating on whether or not to stay return less style or just go return style the later I think would be abit pricier. My end goal is 650 rwhp and I think I can get their with the return less style buy getting two GT in tank pumps, upgraded fuel filter with a the upgraded 30 amp wiring, the cobra basket, ½ inch lines, new fuel rails, #83 injectors, and a BAP.
Would I need an injector controller for the #83’s or do they make injectors that are low impedance in that #?
I know I could just get the eliminator return style and a controller and probably be done with it and have more room for upgrading later on but $2,000 is a bit much for me to dish out right now and get the short block.
Thanks all
Coop

you need a 03 cobra tank and pumps($800). then remove the cobra pumps for twin Ford GT supercar pumps($170). a set of 60# injectors ($320) and a modified FPDM from zone 5 ($100-$200)

thats my current setup and i dont think i'll have any problems with fuel up to around 700 rwhp! if you need more just add a BAP!

Awesome Thanks I already have the 03 cobra tank and baskets ($300 of a buddy who went with a fuel cell). would i need a piggy back injector controller to run the low impedance injectors at those numbers?

Another ? when i got my buddys tank he gave me the fuel rails as well can i use those or should i just get some aftermarket ones?

I am pretty much set now on the idea of staying returnless style fuel system.

The FDPM sounds alot cheaper and easier than a BAP I think i still am going to get the 30amp wire upgrade kit just to be on the safeside

Thanks for the help I am still learning the in's and out's of the Fuel system. Its alot different than the Kiowwa Warrior helicopter I am a technical inspector on which runs a 1000 GPH fuel pump, and a fadec controlled hydromechanical fuel control system. :OT:
