Electrical Fuel rail valve for gauge

I have a pretty much all stock 87 GT. I just picked up a Florida 5.0 6-gauge cluster, and am starting to acquire Autometer gauges for it. I’m not going to run a voltage gauge, and want to run a electric fuel psi gauge in its place. My fuel rails have no schrader valve, so my question is; will any 87-95 rails that have the valve work on my car? Would it be a better idea to just run a vacuum gauge there instead?

What fuel lines do you have on your 'pretty much stock' 87 GT?
The fuel pressure gauge vrs vacuum gauge would be personal preference.

SN95 94-95 rails have the valve on the rail. 86-93 rails do not. The valve is on the hard line running down the side of the engine. I assume that is no longer present on your car.

If your rails are aftermarket Aluminum bodied rails, you can always remove them, and carefully drill/tap for the 1/8 or 1/16npt ( I forget which it is) needed to mount a fuel pressure sensor.

FWIW, i'd consider fuel pressure to be more critical than vacuum, especially at WOT

This car is 100% stock not counting the exhaust or suspension. I’m currently just getting it to the point I’d consider it reliable enough to daily drive. I have no major engine performance upgrades planned for awhile.

Then the shcrader valve is further down the fuel line behind the alternator

Except on early Fox bodies with no MAF & a MAP sensor.

Cool, I guess I had never really looked for that valve on a fox body before, so I had just assumed it wasn’t there. Good to know!
