I installed a Kirban regulator and a Summit fuel gauge today and need to know if you set the pressure with the vacume line on or off? Is 38psi a good start?

The p/n for the gauge is SUM-800160 and you'll need an adapter fitting p/n ATM-3280.

I think I've got a bad regulator. With the vac unhooked I can set it right at 38#. When I hook up the vac it drops to 28-29#. It will spike up to 32-34# when I rev up the motor.

I have not tried to adjust it with the vac line on yet. I will try that here shortly.

Do you thinks the regulator is bad? I have not tried to hookup the stock one yet to see what it does.

Here is a pic of the gauge. Don't mind the dirty engine.

Roy....that gage dropping almost 10 lbs is correct with the vac re-connected......mine will do the same....as you drive it and step into it, watch the F/P rise towards your max reading....sounds like your ok to me...

Thanks for your input Andy and you are right. I put my stock regulator back in and with the engine cold and the vac line on it put out 32#. Without vac it jumped right to 40#.

I'm guessing if I let the car warm up the idle will drop and give me a lower reading with the vac line on. So my Kirban (bought it used off E-Bay) is good.

Vacuum line off represents WOT pressure. Set it with the vacuum line on at whatever setting you want at idle.
