[SIZE=4]I want to see if anyone has experienced this. I bought an 03 cobra and have never driven it hard (seriously). At 12K, it had the transmission replaced under warranty. The problem it has exhibited now for 10K miles is a computer issue? The car at 5 mph + will not die, but the power will shut down for a couple seconds and the take off. I dont mean supercharger lag, i mean flat out as if you turned off the key. It has been in six times for this. I think it might be linked to the traction control, because the green light comes on. However, this is not a case where any traction is being lost. It has now even done it in 2nd around 25 mph. Help!!! Do I just have a lemon?

I saw one other person on this site whose transmission was similarly replaced.

Sure sounds like traction control is kicking in because the warning indicator is lighting up. I think they messed something up when they replaced your tranny. What happens if you shut TC off? Same thing?

LOL! Dude... your car is working EXACTLY like it should. You do know that traction control is turned ON by default every time you start the car, right? You have to manually shut it off by pressing the T/C button on the console in front of the shifter.

If I am rolling along at 5MPH with my TC on and I mash the throttle, guess what? My car falls FLAT ON IT'S FACE TOO! That's what traction control does in this car man! It's just that Ford didn't do a very good job of designing the TC in our cars. It's not smooth at all, very violent and could be a hazard in some instances. As soon as TC senses one of the rear tires starting to lose traction, even a little bit, it pulls spark/timing from the motor and reduces the amount of power available! Feels JUST LIKE someone turned the ignition off for a second and then turned it back on. ALMOST ALL Cobra owners turn off the T/C as soon as they initially start their car!!! There are products on the market today that will do this for you should you chose to purchase one and install it. You can have the TC disabled via a chip or tune also if you want.

Bottom line is there's nothing wrong with your car.

What really scares me here is you've had your car into the dealer 6 times for something that is not a problem... you have some real dumbass people working in your local service department....

My advice to you is as follows.... SHUT OFF YOUR TC BEFORE YOU MASH THE THROTTLE NEXT TIME!

One thing about the TC. If you jump on it from a standing start, it will be overridden. If you are rolling and get on it, it will kick in at the slightest provocation. Hell, you really don't even have to get on it. I had mine kick in when I had to make an emergency maneuver and almost got smoked. 99 times out of 100 I will turn it off when I start the car. It is always the one time that you forget to kill it that it comes back to bite you.

U.M. is correct. It is way too sensitive. The same thing with my '99, for that matter. Unless you told your dealership that the light was coming on, they might have been looking in the wrong place. Maybe they were thinking of the stall issue.

Good luck!

I know that if you mashed the throttle that would happen. That is a given. That is not what is going on here. This is barely accelerating. I know that the traction control comes on by default. I have had other vehicles with traction control. This is the only one that has ever had a problem. The dealer has noted complaints from others, but has yet to figure it out.

the car stalled like that today with the traction control turned off. I didnt look up in time to see if any light came on. I have been driving with that off for a while now. There is some kind of a glitch.

UM, what kind of exhaust do you have on your car?

I guess I would have to see it first hand, or ride in your car to truely understand what is happening. So even with the TC off, the car is falling on it's face?
