Could be entrapment, depending on how you look at it. Still a neat story, as long as it was a GTP and not a Mustang.

Yeah, I dont get it. If a cop eggs you on and drives dangerously then thats not cool. He is as guilty as the guy he busted. Doesnt matter what he was racing. I dont condone street racing, but I can be coaxed into it if the conditions are right. Not in the city or in traffic. And I though I was in talk

It used to be entrapment
Not enough people fought it it court
Now it's "precident" and OK
Your state may vary

PS I swear I ran into this Z on a trip to FLA on a rainy night on I-95, It's really scary to have one with cops in it, it's just not right

there has to be some sort of entrapment or callusion or something, a cop in a unmarked car can legally entice you inot a illegal activity and then bust you?????

DAMN

I have story to tell that is kinda like that. We have a local cop here who is an undercover cop who drives a 96 z 28, it is actually really nice and fast. The first time I saw him was when my friend had just got his SRT 4 and was showing it to me we got pulled over doing 17 over the speed limit, and he just said, "I know you just got this and it is a nice car, but don't be doing that around here" he let us go.... any ways heres the story:

There is a road around here outside of town a little that is about 3 miles of straight road. There was about 30 of us that met up to race and the rest of us would watch from about 40 ft away on a perpendicular dirt road. It was a lot of good clean fun. There was a guy who would sit about 5 miles up the road and watch for cops, and tell us if it was clear to go. '

Towards the end of the night my buddies 89 Mustang GT with a freshly installed Vortech 8psi supercharger was going to race a really quick fire bird. They lined up and were stalled for a second because the spotter said there was a camaro coming. We just figured it was a person showing up late. Right away somebody shouted that it was a undercover cop... everybody took off in opposite directions. About a pack of 12 of us were all headed away from the races towards a small town about 10 miles away. We got away from the cops because they stopped at the people left behind.

I get to this town and almost had to coast in because I was outta gas. The little pack took off back towards town were we came from using a different road. I leave about 10 minutes after getting gas and get on the highway. About 5 miles down the road I see 4 cops with lights on and all my friends were pulled over. I just drove by looking like I had nothing to do with it and my buddies just smiled.

I found out that later that day the cop in the camaro just wanted to know what was going on and to tell us that we needed to get out of there. My friends who got pulled over just got warnings, and it was just a really great night. Nobody was hurt and we all just had a lot of fun... it probably wasn't that smart to run from the cops, but when everyone is scrambling and screaming you just react on a reflex and go with the majority.

I still don't know who would have won that race between the firebird and mustang, we spent 2 sleepless days putting that supercharger and intercooler and all that other ****. I bet the Mustang woulda got em.

i think your right, that the cop made him do it, i was going to say if he didnt go over the speed limit then he didnt really do anything wrong, but i bet the other guy didnt go over either so he would probaly have to get him on wreckless driving or something but the cop was driving that way also, i dont think thats right...
