I just discovered I have a short in the wiring near my battery probably caused by corrosion from the battery acid. Found it when the remaining insulation went up in smoke. Fortunately the damage seems to be limited to the area nearest the battery. Since this is the original wiring in my 67 coupe it probably should be replaced. For now though I was wondering if anyone has ever spliced in a starter relay/fuse assembly into their wiring to protect it from misfortunes like mine. If yes whose fuse block did you use and what were the values of the fuses for a 289 V8/starter and only the orginal accessories. thanks.
