I'm getting a G-Force T5 built and I'm wondering if anyone can answer my question. The G-Force T5 is going into my car which is my daily driver and wont be seeing major power until atleast another year. Will the G Force gearset hold up to daily driving ?

Should hold up just fine. The G5 usually is just the same but with hardened gears, and a upgraded main shaft. The G5 and Astro tranny's mainly beef up the box to handle more torque. Running it on a stock powered 302 until next year will not hurt the transmission at all. Have fun!

Want to know the truth - see http://www.stangnet.com/mustang-forums/817889-g-force-opinions-please.html

That's the problem with all the re-geared super T5's. Eveyone talks about how great they must be, but no one actually has a re-geared super T5 that they have driven street/strip for 50K miles or more. If you actually have such a transmission, let us hear about it. Otherwise it's just bench racing that doesn't prove anything.

The Tremec 3550 I have is in my second 5.0 Mustang with over 100K miles on the trans. It is a little noisy but it shifts like a hot knife through butter - fast, and smooth every time. As long as you use the correct lubricant and don't do stupid things like shift without using the clutch, the Tremec 3550, TKO , TKO 500 or 600 transmissions are almost indestructible.

I have a g force t-5 I got built at hanlon motorsports by bangin bob who has been dealing with these transmissions for many years.. He didn't seem to think it was a problem to use this trans moderately.. It was a daily driver when I put it in but I bought another car so it doesent get driven near as much now.. Other than that I love the trans.. Shifts great.. Just has a whine to it now cause of the different gearset.. Defintely a good purchase though.. I am very happy with it..

G-Force has two gear sets - straight and helical. The straight is really for track only and is nosiy, the helical is for street/strip and is noisy but less so.........
