recently when ever I turn the heater on in my car I get a strong aroma of fresh unburned gas coming from the vents....should I be worried? If so what's wrong?

Carry a fire extinguisher. There is probably a fuel leak under the hood. Fuel leaks usually leave a varnish stain where the gas evaporates, so look around carefully near fuel lines, the fuel rail, and injectors.

crazynorwegian:

Look in the passenger side fender well for the evaporative emissions canister. I think you might have a cracked line or a drip coming from it. Like "n0v8or" said, keep a fire extinguisher in your garage and in your car.

Hope this helps.
