gas tank problem

ok I have a problem with my car when I have under qaurter tank.. it runs horrible and bucks.. is that normal when having a blower.. I have a 255 pump 42 lb injectors and it is tune right.. could it be my fuel filter I have never changed it.. or is the fuel pressure just too low..

first of all, change your fuel filter. 2nd, when your tank gets below 1/4 tank, you are losing fuel pressure. get a fuel pressuer gauge. the only way to avoid the 1/4 tank problem is to go with the 03/04 Cobra tank and pump.

if i were you i wouldn't take mine below a 1/4 at any time if possible, especially with your setup. the gas in your tank actually keeps the pump cool & at operating temperature. if you go below a 1/4 tank you have no way to cool the pump, which can lead to pump failure, due to over heating. & with your setup it's working much harder to flow fuel, so i would imagine it has the potential to cause a lot more problems because it would naturally get hotter with you setup. but first & foremost CHANGE THAT FILTER

That's the rule of thumb with the Pumps in a GT tank. never go into boost Lower than 1/4 tank and never go below 1/8 tank. You run dry that means lean and motor go boom

Yep. KB manual says never to go into boost with less than a 1/4 tank. It can cause the fuel pump to cavitate.

I just switched to the 03 cobra pump/tank and I still dont' boost it below 1/4th a tank.
