Hey guys,

I am wondering if anyone has come out with any pillar gauge pods for the classic mustang. I have been searching around forever and everything seems to be for the f-body and newer style mustang's. I saw a pod on JC Whitney for two gauges but I don't know if it will fit a 1970 fastback. Does anyone have any advise, or has anybody done this???

Thanks!
Scott

Alot of the classic Mustang vendors sell these for 65-68 and recently 69-70 with two pods. Some sell a matching right hand trim that is plain. Check NPD or M.U., etc... I bought some years ago.

I found a 1969/1970 gauge pod for nearly $100. I was just about to buy it when you wrote that it fits like crap. Are you talking about the pod or the gauges don't fit into the pod? What did you end up going with???

I put some normal 2 1/16" boost, A/F guages and when you put the panel against the pillar, the guages hit the metal pillar and push the plastic out and you can see it from the outside. I took mine and added 1/2" fiberglass edge so you cant see the guages from the outside of the windshield.

Hmmm, I'd also like to see some good pics of the A-pillar pod for a 65-66. I really hadn't given much thought to this approach [figured I'd add gauges where the stock radio lives] but this could work.

I have the same pod (from Mustang Depot Vegas). The fit is bad on the pillar, even with electrical guages that dont hit the pillar, and the angle towards the driver is wrong. Bad product design, not worth your $$. I put a couple of carbon Autometer single pods on the pillar instead.

I don't think the angle is all that bad. Maybe not perfect but I can see them just fine. I covered mine with vinyl. Now that I got 'em, I can't imagine it without 'em.

I found a 2 gauge pod at National Parts depot for about $92. It says that it fits the 1969/1970 fastback, and since I just received the pod from jcwhitney and it doesn't even come close to fitting my pillar I think I am just going to buy the other one. Thanks for all the help though, all of your set up's look sweet!
