Gear Installation?

If you only have 3000 miles, do you have have to use the installation kit for new gears? Or can you just replace the gears and use the stock bearings and everthing? (Comes with pinion nut and shims)

should be fine with that many miles

I just wanted to make sure I didn't have to get anything else but gears. Thanks alot
