o.k. you should know :SNSign: has no fear of gear!? But if your not sure about the gears, talk to others who have mustangs with 3.73, 4.10 . ask for a ride or even ask to drive their car! most of us are more than happy to share our steed!! O.K. I just instaled 3.73 in my 2000 GT and woah is that TALL!! I gues I do more hw miles and stop n go than every one else!? its a little weird cruising at 35mph in 4th at 1800 rpm. or on the hw at 70mph in 5th at 2500rpm. If you want a little more hp go with a 70-75 tb and plenum (if that is made for a cobra) and the MAC PROCHAMBER MID PIPE !!!!!!!! this did wonders for me. I canot even imagine driving a car with 4.10 on the street at faster than 55mph without big slicks out back. I have a lot of traction issues with my car. 4.30 no way! sorry sn just my .02 288RWHP 329RWTQ

I am glad I did the 4.30's 3 years ago and get around 24-25 mpg on the highway. I plan on going 4.56's soon because I am going with ported c heads and intake, imrc delete and stage 2 cams and springs.

Then again I bought a Mustang not for its great gas mileage.

Too steep of a gear with a supercharged or nitrous'd car can lead to issues like traction.

what he said but that is only on certain applications though cause on a centri style S/C you can get away with 4.10's but a KB 3.73's or rare occasion 3.55's if too much boost

i have a 98gt with 4.10s.. not bad, no traction problems.. then i got a 04 auto mach1.. i thought for a while bout 4.30's but let people talk me outta it and put 4.10s and drove quite a few 400 mile round trips with no problems .. i would go no less then 4.10s .. only traction problems were from 20-25 mph romps...
