gettin rid of old bugs

The front of my black 98 stang has old bug crud on it i have tried cleaner/wax and polishing compound with little result. Any suggestions for cleaning this up?

rubbing alcohol, or bug and tar remover will work.

+1. anything by seafoam works. ive been using it all weekend while detailing cars and it works great. got mine at napa

WD-40 helps, but expect to wash it off afterward. It does not harm the paint however. Bug crud can do some serious damage that cannot be undone if it sits too long.

Try washing with dish liquid and follow this up with a clay bar system. This should remove it. If this doesn't work, you can always try the Seafoam bug b gone or goo gone stuff that is used to remove dried glue from decals on cars. It works pretty good.
