Hi guys, I had an existing problem with my car now for some time. Sometimes I'll have trouble turning the key to get it to start, like the black switch will just move all the way around and it won't start sometimes. When it does this it'll try to kick over once in a while and I have to fool with it for about 10 minutes and it'll be alright for a while. Well today I just can't even get the car started. Like i said sometimes it'll try to kick over but now I can't even get it fully started. So we ordered a lock and tumbler and some electrical thing for sheridian ford today and i'm getting this company down here that installs these things to put it in. Just wondering if anyone else ever had a problem with theirs? I guess on the bright side you won't beable to turn my car on without a key anymore, lol.

If you are talking about the ears around the lock cylinder - yeah, been there and done that. there are 3 sets of ears on the inside of that collar (the collar is to keep people from breaking or bending keys - turn with the collar and not the key) and the pins can shear off. I made dowels for mine and put it back together.

If worst came to worst, the round deal with the ears is pressed on to the lock cylinder (it is cast, so it breaks). You can yank it off. then the key should work better.

Good luck with it. :nice:
