well, saturday night my transmission gave up on me and called it quits. i lost both 3rd and 4th gear. so now i'm going to build my car bc i wanna...the new part list coming is as follows...i should be ordering them within 2 weeks

1. mmr 900 w/ oil pump and mmr block side bolts
2. mmr pro trans 900 w/bellhousing
3. spec stage 3 clutch
4. Houston performance s292 cam
5. 60 lb injectors

This with my v2 sq aftercooled vortech system with 75 mm tb/plenum, powerpipe, and xpipe...I'm also running a focus fuel pump w/ kb bap

I'm also gonna turn the boost up on the blower hoping to push maybe 15 psi with a 2.87 pulley...maybe a bigger one i need suggestions

if anyone wants to give me a hp estimate of what it may put down...

thanks guys and as always :SNSign:

the aftercooler isnt really too great on high boost levels. i would go air to air.

isnt the MMR 900 a version of the TKO?? is so i would stay far away from that. a T56 is a much better trans IMO.

That sounds like a good plan, but don't forget the rear end! I would definately get the 31 spline axles and diff., especially if your gonna drag race it.

oh yea i'm gonna do that but a lil down the road for the time being i'm going to feather it out of the hole to get decent traction instead of just dumping the clutch but i know i'll snap something if i do that...

Yes it is, and I would stay away from it also! They have bad 3-4 issues and don't like to synch up sometimes. My friend had one and it would grind going 3-4, he is selling it and putting a T56 in, hah.... Pretty much all the TKO's are prone to 3-4 issues, and are very sensitive to setting up the ****er and clutch JUST right.

well, i found a t56 kit for like 2500 but it's the one rated up to 500 ft lbs...do you think that is enough? bc the viper spec one is like 4200

Stock T56 is plenty, they usually don't break until upwards of 700hp. I've seen two broken tailshaft cases but both of those were in cars launching at 600+ ftlbs with huge gears and sticky tires - and also the rear ends failed at the same time so it was probably the rear causing the transes to break. Sometimes people have shift fork issues with higher miles, stuff wears out, but overall not a big deal.

There is a company that makes built t56's and 3650's.. but for the life of me I cant think of their name! Someone will chime in with it.. I plan on going with their built 3650 when mine goes or if it goes.. she rarely sees 2000+ RPM's with these gas prices!

I think that you are smart going with the stock T56. I have had 2 friends with the TKO's who have had 3-4 shift problems. They have both switched to a t56 and could not be happier!
