so yesterday and today were complete hell. tried taking out a qt of oil to put marvel in, ended up dropping the drainplug, yada yada, oil on unsealed blacktop driveway. if my dad finds it im dead.... we have an adition being put on my house so that may work out. im so tired of not having a garage. so i ended up putting the oil back in from my drain pain (eww) and today i went to jiffy lube to have it changed. card kept declining, walking to bank, didnt work, had to call dad and use his card number, great times.
so thats the rant part, now the question. my friend with a sealed blacktop says carb cleaner gets oil off his, so i tried that. letting it sit and scrubbing, then hosing off, doesnt want to work. what can i do? anything?

I use kitty litter. I pour it over the oil and then work it in with my boot and let it sit. I work it around with a broom or so and the oil usually disappears within a day or two
kitty litter is the cats meow to use on oil spills. Also dawn dish detergent works well. After the kitty litter of course.
I don't know if it works on black top but I use muriatic acid from time to time on my cement floor. I don't know what it will do to blacktop.
also the powder laundry detergent work to, just pour it on, work it in, let it sit for a few hrs, then rinse away. if u catch an oil spill right away this method( or kitty litter method) will get every drop of oil. ive even lightened up the stains in my drive that have been there for years. good luck and dont get killed by ur dad
brake cleaner and some terry towels, it evaporates quickly so you need to spray a lot on and wipe the mess up quick, nothing better.
muratic acid works on concrete because it dissolves concrete. Yes on concrete it will work, don't think you will have too much luck with acid and blacktop.
