Getting ready to buy......

I am hopefully gonna be in the market for a 89-93 notchback. I currently have my 04 Cobra for sale and as soon as it gets sold i will be ready to buy. I love my Cobra to death but i just dont drive it enough as I'm so afraid of it getting hit. Any tips on buying a notchback as to what i should look for. Thanks for the help.
