Goals for your car... What was it and where are you now?

When I bought my stang back in 1996, I knew nothing about modding cars. In fact, I hadn't ever been around anyone who had modified a car, so it was something that I wasn't even aware of.

After having the car for a few years and first finding this site, now I have goals for my car:

1. MM Road & Track suspension plus a few more of their parts.

2. Nice/moderate wheel/tire combo.

3. Minor cosmetic changes (Cobra bumper, headlights, new seats).

4. Full exhaust.

5. 347 N/A passing emissions. Somewhere close to 400hp using Edelbrock intake and heads.

6. Maintain driveability while producing lots of power, better handling, and brakes to match.


I'm getting there slowly and over the past 12 months, I have made more progress than any year before. That should continue for the next couple years ending with the engine upgrade.

My first goal was to convince myself to buy the car because I knew nothing about fuel injection, I've always had carbureted v8's but I couldnt resist the $1200 price tag
My second goal is 11's on the bottle with only 6k including car should be done before this seasons over
My third goal is when I come back from the stan (havent left yet) sometime in 07 drop some big bucks I'm thinkin 4XX stroker turbo proj.

My goal is a mid high 12 on motor. I am getting some drag radials next week. Hopefully next week I will have my timeslip. Wish me luck.


And get an 11.99 or better on nitrous.

My Goals are

to build a car that has both head turning good looks and a great sound and

to run mid to low 13's on stock heads and cam in street trim N/A

and some day go 11s on spray with h/c/i

My goal is to motivate my AODE convertible to run a mid 13 N/A w/ no nitrous.

I just got back from the track (my first time ever) on my "almost stock" run and with the mods below it pulled a 15.3 which seems to be dead on what it should be running.

Next mods are ported cobra intake, full exhaust w/ LTs, AODE makeover and gears. I hope to have a mid 13 sec timeslip by this time next year.

My goals for having a 12 second daily are down the drain (for now 14s are good I guess). My folks are pretty mad at me for buying gears and pulleys and wer 10x as mad when they heard it would be 300 for installation. This fall I'm going down to college and the car will just sit in the garage for the whole year. So basically for 4 years nothing will be done to the car.

So 4 years from now I plan for headers, springs, radials, rims, sub frames, h/c/i, T5 swap, xenon body kit. Man this car will really be something down the road, I just need a little patience, I've got a lot of time. When I think about it, buying a new car is worthless, when this car is totally payed off, low miles and most of the money I make can just go towards mods.

Ultimate Goal: one bad ass 10 second weekend car

I originally owned an 87gt conv, wanted to be faster than my friends 96z28, so I wanted h/c/i. I got the heads and cam ( motor had a lot of miles, so rebuilt it and had to use the stock intake, t/b, exh) put that in my car and saved enough to get full exhaust, beat my friends z28, and couple months later totalled my car. Got my 95, didn't know much about them, the only goal I have now is to get the tweecer and become good enough to use it, and save for a vortech hopefully will get it to push it over 440-460rwhp, andway into the future is a new longblock, tremec, paint. Just kinda never ends I guess.

My initial goal : Run 14's bone stock - Ran 14.8 @ 94mph with only a K&N

2nd goal: 13's with Stock H/C/I - ran 13.9 @ 98.5 with 373's/hpipe/Pullies/DR's

Current goal for this year - 13.4's with shorty headers & Trickflow intake, maybe get a TB also. Get some stiffer shocks for the road course, larger swaybars, and maybe control arms. Run competively with the Vette's & Cobras at the road course, and turn a 1:32:00 lap time.

I should probably FINALLY have a single turbo kit later this year and hopefully by spring 06 be running 12's without ever having taken the valve covers off. Reliabilty & streetability are huge for me, as I drive it to work 3-4 times a week in the summer.

I never really had intentions of doing anything to my car, or plans for it.. Maybe thats why It's always changing and never good enough, lol

Right now my goal is, get the damn thing running and driving.. then I'de like to see some 9-10 second slips, and keep the driveability.

current goal-finish puting my car back together

future plans include an R302 based 331/347 with a d series procharger and approx 800 motor horsepower. and of coure the stuff to go along with this. give me time(years).

My goal is for a mostly stock looking Mustang that can N/A tickle 11s in the 1/4, handle well, and be an emissions legal daily driver.

I know it's a huge goal so I'm taking it slowly. I've got the wheel and tire combo that I want and I'm planning on doing subframes this summer. Then I'll start slowly replacing the suspension and be ready for an engine rebuild and tranny swap (T56).

I would say that my goal, even before this car, was to Turbo a Mustang. I did and love it. I am just waiting to get it fine tuned now and hopefully that will be soon. I am ready to see what kind of power it is making. The only other wish list item left will be paint. Maybe this year, but probably not.

My Goal:

First goal: Have a V-8 RWD convertible: Done and I had to sell the sebring very we bought since the wife wanted a vert to do it. DONE

Second Goal: Have a fun fast DD: In process.

So far I ahve tuned it up and got it running great for a 130k mile car. Now I need suspension (should be delivered any minute) and a clutch... then it will be a relaible pretty fast DD.

I can say that the roll bar sitting in my basement was not part of my goal, neither were the 3:73's, the 17" 1999 GT wheels...

But don't worry none of this makes me sad...
