Going detail crazy lately....

Besides buying mods for the car, I've been bitten by the detailing bug since moving back to my house with it's garage. My old place didn't even have a car wash stall, so of course the car suffered. But not any more!!! :nice:

I've spent a LOT of money lately, here's a short list:
Porter Cable DAPC7336
Edge 2000 pad system
Klasse AIO (free, thanks Scotty!!...woot)
Klasse SG
Pinnacle XMT scratch removers
Natty's Blue
Pinnacle spray nuba QD
Wheelwax
Ordered some Menzerna PO85RD from England (this formula no longer sold in the US)
Countless microfiber cloths.

Want to try:
Wolfgang sealant glaze
Finish Kare 425
Blackfire SRC

I think I'm going insane, but this pic of the reflection of my garage roof on the roof of my car speaks LOADS of the terrific results I'm getting: :nice:

Sad and crazy thing is, I'm probably still going to buy different things just to try them out haha.

Want to make $50, and spend an entire afternoon cleaning a car that isn't yours? :D.

It's like a mirror

Since my car was in sorta bad shape, the initial process took 5 hours  I did 1 or 2 passes with 2 different swirl removers, cleaned/polished the wheels, 1 coat of AIO, 1 coat of SG applied much too think resulting is a HELLA lot of "elbow grease" to remove the crap.

Now that it's about 75% or so to where I want it to be, I'll be much of a shorter process when my new swirl removers come in. I should be able to do the car in a few hours now. All that's really required after I finish is to wash it every week, clay bar it if needed (and re-seal the areas that were clayed) and keep a good coat of the Natty's on top. The hardest part is prepping the paint for the sealant and removing the swirls.

Depending on how bad your car is, it may take more or less time. My car was bad and had a lot of swirls/spiderwebs on it (from day one when it came in on Matson). I gotta meet you one day and take a look at it I guess.

I gotta see more pics. If you hadn't said that was a reflection, I'd have thought maybe you were just taking pics of your ceiling.

So sad, makes me miss my stang.

That's pretty awesome, a garage one thing I want really bad. Sadly It'll have to wait since my fiancee just bought our first townhouse with no garage, so probably another 3-5 years for me.

Either way I won't have the same results as u with my White Stang but detailed dark colored cars do look awesome though, my old GT.

Once in a while I go nuts and detail my black 02 GT like that because it looks so damn hot but...

By the time I'm finished the last panel on the car a film of dust and pollens and other airborne crap is visible on the others. By the next morning the whole car, while still looking stunning, has a visible sheen of crap on it. I can take my California duster and have at it before taking it for a cruise but I end up with more crud on it afterwards...

Seems so futile sometimes. Stupid dust and stupid black cars :D

Why the hell did you get a 7336? Don't you know the 7424 is better?

I got my 7424 and $130 in product about a week ago, including Liquid Souveran, Optimum Polish, SSR 2.5, etc.

Don't YOU know that other than the included pad, there is NO difference between the two? Check the Porter Cable website if you are unsure.

I would take Menzerna PO85RD over Optimum any day, especially on a dark colored car.
