The syncros don't always line up right, especially if it had been in 2nd or above before you came to a stop. Usually, all you have to do is let out the clutch and put it back in, then it should go in fine.
:stupid: it's the synchros. Just pick another gear to shift into easily then go into reverse if it bugs you. I just apply pressure until it slides in though. Whatever bangs your shutters.

i had the same problem too and heard that it was common on 5spd cars. something to do with the synchros no meshing properly or that there is no reverse gear syncro or something like that. just hold in the clutch and shift from neutral to another gear then straight into reverse and it should go fine. ive gotten into the habit of shifting into 5th then straight down to reverse

I've never owned a car that wasn't a 5spd, and this has been a 'problem' on every car i've ever owned, or driven - if you ride with alot of 5spd people, you'll notice the 1st-reverse jingle, if reverse sticks for me, i just go neutral, let the clutch out, in, shift into first, and then back to reverse - 98% of the time that does it first try, the other 2% you have to do it twice.

Also, you've posted like 20 threads with 1 question a piece, if you have lots of questions, why not make one post to ask them all? Not being a dick just making a suggestion. :flag:

sorry about all my questions but they come at different times. like today my gauges came in im gonna try to put em on if it dondt work then im gonnna ask for help or suggestions. i konw i've posted a lot but i just wana learn
