Going through the gears (t5) video.........Post your vids too.

I uploaded this for the glass pack thread, and then thought I would ask a question. If you have a manual and also a modern digicam, sit the cam on your pass. seat press record and shoot a short vid of your cars cruising or hammering it. Real easy to do, and your camera shout be able to shoot video, this is 2006 right. Mine's been off the road for so long now and I'm carsick.

Anyways, stock engine, headers, carb, h pipe and glass packs (soon to change) with a 5 speed, steeda triax. It's not streetracing, and I know every guy in here likes to hear a mean v8 so let's see em!:SNSign:

i like this one much better...sounds pretty mean for a stock engine, just wait till you get some mods and can break loose at that speed

Sounds good. I like that shifter, is the tri-ax longer than the stock t5 shifter? I have to reach way forward to put her into 3rd and 5th.

Yea, I've only ever had my little 2 barrel 289. Can't wait for the rebuild. I don't know that the 5.0 stick is longer, but I would think so as they call the triax a short throw shifter.

I'm 6 foot and have to stretch for 3rd and 5th also. Was thinking about adding a longer handle to it like the hurst or something, but it works great the way it is.

Also feel free to post vids if you got em. Youtube is so easy and fast. I signed up, uploaded and linked my vid all within 5 minutes.

Open headers at 80mph http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XcJ9TuQm5wU

That is before I put on the Flowmaster american thunder 2.5" to flowmaster delta flow 40's, don't have a video of that yet though.

I bet that sounded awesome in person. I did that once and it felt like my tq was cut in half. When you got the rest of the exhaust on did it feel faster?

Ummm, I couldnt really notice. I was so excited that I got the headers to finally go on. It was a fun and loud drive to the muffler shop to have them finish welding the exhaust together! I just need a bigger cam and then she'll really be sounding mean.

Try this one:
http://www.omg-e.com/mustang/airport_pony.wmv (12MB)

Borrowed the runway at the local airport to time 4-5 runs. Car description is in my Garage but the short version is built 351W, 2½in dual, Magnaflows, Toploader 4 sp.
As you can see major traction problems, even with Detroit Locker. Mods since are JW Performance C4 tranny, Competition Engineering Slide-A-Links, Detroit TrueTrac, Grab-a-Trac 5-leaf rear springs and a much harder setting on the SPAX shocks. Now I just need to borrow the airport again!

I was thinking or getting this handle, but I'd probably lose the current shift knob.

Here's an in-car of my '68. No shifter shot, but it's a Comp Plus on a wide ratio Toploader. 3.00 gears make for a sluggish take-off and I don't know why it started to break up at the end of the run, but I like the sound anyway.
