I figure Im going to try to register as a classic in PA. A clear picture of each side is required. So if anyone has any experience I would like opinions. This was a 4 cyl so I cant have anything that would mark it as a 5.0 so I put turn downs instead of LX pipes and no badges.

If it is listed as a 4 cylinder on the title, and it meets all the requirements of a "classic," then you should have no problems with it.

A guy at a junkyard once told me that if its a 5.0 they will be advertising it. (Fender Badge), never thought about it but all the V8 cars had 5.0 badges. Since you look stock and live in PA. there should be no problem unless they want pics of the engine bay. If the preson thats certifiying it is reputable, you should have no problems.

I think its cool that you are registering it as a classic. Never seen a fox yet that has classic plates. Its about time that someone does. Thanks for doing it. Just need a set of 10 holes and a paint job and Im good to go. Thought of doing it many times myself. Let us know how it turns out.

P.S. Just noticed that your door handles should be black.

Yeah handles should be black doubt anyone at DMV would notice. Also hard to swallow that this would be "historic" or "classic" since I clearly remember when they were new...guess that makes me antique? (((shudders)))

***update***

Got my classic tags today! woot! White car with a white tag. Also finally able to give it a proper drive around town and get some gas. Very first time I've been able to drive it since I bought it in Jan 08 Still need to get inspected but in the dark the cops cant see. Speedo cable was resting on the exhaust got a little smoke there and the passenger side rear brake may be stuck from the parking brake ...rim was hot. Pulls well and sounds badass when I get on it. I see miles of smiles ahead.

What are the benefits of classic tags vs regular tags in PA??

Just wondering why you went this route. It is just to have the distinction of having a classic car plate??

Sure...10 dollars a month to fully insure it for everything oh and no emissions testing. Either one is a good reason but together its a slam dunk. As long as it a second car.

**edit** also a permanent tag. Never have to register the car again.

Awesome! Glad it happened. Can you only drive it on weekends? Or a few times a week? Or is it a total mileage limit for the year? I want to do it with mine. I might put 4k on in a good year if the weather is nice. -25% for the 4.10's. Are shots of the engine bay required?
