I was wondering what size MAF would be a good size to go with if i wanted more then what the factory one offers and yet want to maintain the daily driver practicality. I am open to suggestions. I have a rebuilt 302 that has been bored to a 306, a cam with a .498 lift put in. I also have a chip installed. I have not done anything with the injectors or the throttle body as of yet, but I was thinking a 75mm TB, 30 lb injectors and the like in the MAF. Would this be an ok set up? I am also thinking about bumping up the rear end gears to a 3.73

MAF size isn't really as important as its made out to be. It should be at least as big as your throttle body, however. That being said, the stocker still does a pretty good job up to a given amount of airflow, and replacing it if you're still running stock injectors probably won't net you any gain. What are your mods aside from the cam (.498 lift = E cam?) and chip? Is it a custom chip, or one of those Superchip deals?

It depends on what the rest of your combo is.

The stocker can handle 290-300rwhp and that is a good bit.

If you do need a bigger maf I would suggest either a Factory maf (gen II lightning maf or some other bigger 4.6 maf) or an SCT maf and whatever inj. you need along with a quality tune.

I don't have the specs on what all was thrown in to the rebuild. I did not have the time nor the shop space to do it myself so I had it done. I have recently graduated from college and now that I have more time to play with it I wanted to do some of the easier stuff that I can do w/o having to pull the engine. I got the chip from Summit racing, but it is not custom as I didnt think I would need one because there isnt much for mods.

Not really answering your original question but I think theres a lot more things you can do to your car that will be more noticeable and productive than a MAF upgrade. Not at your power level anyway. Just my opinion though. I think the rear gears would be a more cost effective upgrade as far as bang for your buck.

I am aware that new gears would give me a more noticeable gain. I would like to modify the engine the best I can with out adding a blower or nitro. I want it to look stock as much as possible.

I've got a brand new A/C delete for 94/95's if your interested shoot me a PM. As far as injector size and MAF, I think you're fine with what you have. Gears you will see a noticable difference. I felt a little gain from my udp's and bigger TB but not much.
