Well for nearly 2 weeks now I havnt had the Mach,Got it back from Ford yesterday.I took it in under warranty for a leaking and squeaking steering rack, knew it needed to be replaced and for a strange sound I hear sometimes.

Well they fixed the steering and when looking for this other sound they find that the rear pinion gear has a missing tooth,so I then got a total rear rebuild.

With all that done the warranty save me $2k so far but its not done yet. After the holidays are over it will go back to Ford for that other sound that just wouldnt make any noise while they had it...go figure. But this noise is while Im in 5th gear between 50-70mph,if I let off the gas just a bit and then give it gas again you can hear a very faint sound coming from the tranny,(like rocks in a can, best i can describe it)but only in 5th and its normally at about 60mph.Any Ideas?

The reason Im waiting for after the holidays is that when they get it back to fix the problem Im gonna give them a new clutch to install and since they are gonna have they tranny out they wont charge me for the install of the clutch.

Congrats on getting your Mach back & getting new parts.... I wish I could use my warranty, but I cant because I have too many mods & they would just deny my warranty claims.

I wish I could get a new tranny installed in mine because mine feels waaay too notchy compared to how it felt when i got the car, & I want to get rid of the stupid head tick, but oh well I will just have to get these things fixed on my own. On the other hand, I always hated bringing my car to the dealership for work because they would take too damn long....

They will probably charge you to resurface the flywheel. Shouldn't be more than 50 or 60 bucks. Pearl02.

I know,or at least they better resurface it.
as far as them taking long they were really quick about getting it fixed, its the warranty company that slowed things down.

As for the head tick, mine only did that when another Ford dealer put some cheapo low grade gas in it,Im using premium and only use the same gas station/company every fill up...unless im traveling...no ticks since,I dunno if its the same tick.

As for the warranty I dont normally get one cause I know it would most likely be vioded but me and the ford dealer I got it from got into...lets say a disagereement when I bought it so to make me happy they gave me a 2yr 27kmile warranty for free, and this warranty covers about everything but broken glass, tires, and normal maintance stuff. So since I have it I figure Ill wait awhile before I really start modding to void it out....good thing I waited so far.
